I have now acquired my Galant VR4 # 488/2000, only it has no title. I'm trying to figure out the cheapest way to get it titled. Maybe lien it? The last titled owner was in California, then it was sold to someone in Seattle, then to a guy in Yakima, now me.... What a mess. I really want this car. But without a title it is nothing more than parts.

if you can get a bill of sale from the last person who owned it, you will have to call or write, you will only have to pay the lost title fee and title transfer fee, but it won't be cheap the prices went up.

Yeah DMV jacked up the prices on everything. I have a bill of sale from the guy I bought it from. But the title was lost two owners before that. I guess I'll just take it down to the DMV and see what they say. I figured I'd have to spend a couple hundred on the DMV ransom, I figured that into the purchase price.
I appreciate the input. I have to go through the same S with the red samurai, I have been avoiding it since its just been a lawn ornament

When I bought my jeep that was a salvage title, I had to buy a new title, plate and tags, plus they charged me for an out of state transfer cause the company that bought it from the auction was based in Washington - even though it was never registered there.  It was $196.00 before I could leave... irked

It is a mo FO for sure. Either a lien or lost title and "Cough" a signature just appears out of no-where from the previous owner"cough" but I have never heard of anyone doing that flipoff2

Yeah I'm in the process of getting the last titled owner's info from the CA DMV. Then from there I can get it straightened out.
